An attacking and defending move at the same time. Skype must be making them think.
Skype have made me think. Afterall I used my first software Internet phone over 8 years ago, and the phone companies were worried about it then. They all turned up to a Voice over IP conference in London with people like Jeff Pulver and Ester Dyson. But the thing was not easy to install and get moving, sound cards didn’t come as standard then, and voice quality over modem calls wasn’t great.
So what has changed?
Well firstly its the broadband explosion that is enabling this technology and secondly Skype is intuitive and simple.
